Kunsthuset Kabuso/Ingebrigt Vik Museum
Kabuso is located in the center of Øystese, 2.5 km from Vetlemyrane gard. It is a living art house with changing exhibitions, a rich program of events, activities for children and young people, various films, its own café with local products and home-made cakes and a gift shop. The sculpture collection of the local artist Ingebrigt Vik, born in Øystese and the light art Hardanger Skyspace by James Turrell are also part of the exhibition.

Hardanger Maritime Centre – Hardanger fartøyvernsenter
In the neighboring village of Norheimsund, a short mile from Vetlemyrane, is the Hardanger maritime center. The museum has long experience of restoring vessels and boats, fitting out steel ships, rigging and forging. The museum emphasizes that the guests should be able to see the craftsmen at work. It smells of fresh materials, tar, rope and glowing wrought iron. All the workshops (forge, reiparbahn, boat builder’s workshop and restoration yard) are open to visitors. As a guest, you can try your own skills in small workshops. In addition, you will find a shop and café.

Hardangerbadet – swimming pool
Hardangerbadet is beautifully situated in the middle of Øystese center with great views to the fjord and the glacier Folgefonna. Hardangerbadet has a 25-meter training pool, 3-meter diving tower, water slide with fjord view, family pool with splash pool and splash toys, climbing wall and counter-stream channel. In addition, they also have a sauna and therapy pool.

Hardanger Golfklubb
Banen til Hardanger Golfklubb ligg idyllisk plassert på Børve, 5 km frå Vetlemyrane med flott utsikt over Hardangerfjorden, folgefona og fjella. Banen har 6 hol og drivingrange på 200 meter.

Spildegarden – smaking på eplesider
Spildegarden ligg i Øystese sentrum. Her kan du møte Eplebudeia eller Eplebonden til ei informativ, humoristisk og velsmakande vandring i eplesider si verd. Her kan du få smake på eit utval Spildesider medan du får historiar fra garden, om eplesortane og sideren.  Farge, duft og smak vert vurdert. Du får ei lett innføring i produksjonsmetodar og kva for mat dei ulike sidrane høver til. Om du ynskjer kan sideren bytast ut med varierte alkoholfrie Spildemostar.

Steinsdalsfossen
Steinsdalsfossen er ein av Noregs mest besøkte fossar, og ligg om lag 15 km frå Vetlemyrane. Steinsdalsfossen har eit fall på 50m og er spesiell fordi du kan gå på baksida utan å verta våt. Fossen oppstod i 1699 som følgje av at elva endra løp. Det går sti frå parkeringsplassen og opp under fossen, ein fin liten spasertur.

Gullfiskavatnet
I Gullfiskvatnet kan du mate ”Gullfisk”! Gullfisken er gullvederbuk, sett ut i Skårsvatnet i 1914. Fin raste- og badeplass. Gullfiskvatnet (Skårsvatnet) ligg 2 km frå Vetlemyrane, på fylkesvegen til Porsmyr/ Fyksesund.

Trolltunga – hiking – Tyssedal
Trolltunga is the most spectacular rock formation in Norway, hovering 700 metres above Ringedalsvatnet lake. The hike through high-mountain terrain up to Trolltunga is long and demanding, but you are rewarded with truly breathtaking views!

Glacier guiding on Folgefonna, the third largest glacier in Norway is the main activity for Folgefonni Glacier Team. Additional activities are kayaking, skiing, snow shoeing, climbing and bicycling.

FONNA Glacier Ski Resort (folgefonn.no)
Fonna is one of Europe’s leading summer ski centres, located 1,200 meters above sea level on the Folgefonna glacier in the heart of Hardanger. Summerseasons starts 1st.May and ends 31st of August.

Visitor’s Centre Hardangervidda National Park – Norwegian Nature Centre – Hardanger (norsknatursenter.no)
A unique alpine region, Hardangervidda National Park is Norway’s biggest national park and has the biggest high mountain plateau in Northern Europe. Get a closer look at wildlife, nature and climate. Explore the interaction between culture and the environment. By watching, touching, listening and learning, you become an active and creative part of the exhibition.

Baroniet Rosendal Manor House & Gardens
Baroniet in Rosendal was Norway’s own and was established in 1678 by King Christian V of Denmark-Norway. It is today a living museum with guided tours, concerts, lectures, theater, art exhibitions, accommodation and dining.

Den Norske Turistforening (DNT) er Noregs største friluftslivsorganisasjon med over 250.000 medlemmer. Organisasjonen består av 57 medlemsforeninger med tilknytta lokallag. Winter activities

Furedalen
About 30 min from Vetlemyrane. In Furedalen there are 2 large ski lifts of 950m each and a children’s ski cover with supervision in the sheltered area. There are 6 alpine slopes with a total of 7.7km length, several levels of difficulty. In addition to alpine skiing, the resort is very suitable for boards and telemark. For the little ones, there is a separate ski slope. Ski tavern and warming hut are open when the facility is in operation. Ski rental with a good selection of alpine skis, boards and some touring skis.

Eikedalen
About 35 min from Vetlemyrane. Eikedalen Ski Center offers 7 different lifts that take you to a wide range of slopes. In addition, find a heating stove with café, ski rental and ski school for different levels. Follow the link above for more information about opening hours and snow report.

Sjusete Skisenter
About 15 min from Vetlemyrane. you will find Sjusete Ski Center. Kilometers upon kilometers of groomed trails for those who love cross-country skiing.
